Taxonomy is the practice and science of classification, the practice of arranging living things in order.
Modern taxonomy is divided into five major categories called kingdoms. These kindoms are further branched into subcategories based on the organisms' structures.
THE MAJOR TAXONOMIC LEVELS ARE:
-Kingdom
-Phylum
-Class
-Order
-Family
-Genus
-Species
The classifications levels become more specific toward the bottom. Many organisms belong to the same kingdom, fewer belong to the same species.
